John M. Gido
November 11, 1934 - November 24, 2017
Erie, Pennsylvania

John was a mentor to all who worked with him. He had a great sense or humor. At USCHS Football games he rated the bands on the number of people in the tuba section. That's why, no matter what else, I always had eight tubas. I'm not sure all of them played tuba. He was a friend and I will miss him.

John had a great sense of humor and enjoyed working with students, staff and school board members in Upper St. Clair. I was one of the latter, and we all worked together through good and bad times in the school district. He was a gentleman who sensed when others needed help or a kind word, and he was there to pitch in. I am sorry to see that he will not be available to volunteer his good works on behalf of his family and friends. My condolences to his family.

John contributed much to the developing
Upper St Clair School District. As a
40 year teacher at USC it was my distinct
impression of how central and important he
was to the District.

He often mentioned his family and how
proud he was of them over the years.

He will be missed.
